Many learners study grammar and vocabulary, but when it comes to actually speaking—well, that’s where things can get tricky! Therefore, we’ve put together a list of useful, natural, and interesting key phrases you should know that will make you sound more confident and fluent in everyday English. From being polite when you start and end a conversation, to showing interest or opinion, these phrases will get you into the conversation like a native speaker. Let’s get going and get talking!

Roleplay Challenge

Pair up or work in a small group. Choose one of the following situations and roleplay it using at least 5 phrases from the list.

Situations:

  • Meeting someone new at a party
