Long in the tooth

Meaning: to be old, especially when someone is too old to do something.

Meaning: an older person who is no longer attractive or capable of doing things as they used to.

Meaning: old jewellery, clothes and so on representing the style from the past.

  • This is a vintage jacket which was in fashion in the 80s.

Old-time

Meaning: things from a long time ago.

  • They are still preparing the same dishes as old-time Americans for Thanksgiving.
  • They played some old-time Irish dancing music in the club.

Centenarian

Meaning: a human who is a hundred or more years old.

  • They say there are lots of centenarians living on some Greek islands.
  • More and more people are becoming centenarians nowadays.
