Hello English learners! Critical thinking the ability to analyse facts and form a judgement. Developing critical thinking skills is essential in higher education.
Logical conclusion a result that follows naturally from the evidence. Based on the evidence, the jury reached a logical conclusion.
Detailed explanation a thorough description or clarification. The teacher gave a detailed explanation of how the machine works.
Conflicting opinions differing views that contradict each other. The meeting became heated due to several conflicting opinions.
Important announcement a significant public message. The headteacher made an important announcement about changes to the exam schedule.
Breaking news   newly received and important information, especially on TV or radio. We interrupted our lesson to watch the breaking news on the school’s TV.
