Are Skype classes effective?

Learning English via Skype means having individual classes tailored for your needs. The lessons are designed at an easy pace, considering your goals and objectives. More and more students enrol in online English schools for individual English classes.

Skype classes are way different from a school classroom with 5-10 or more students. With Skype individual classes, you have all the time in the world to practice English and ask questions. And don’t forget that focus is on you only! What could be more effective than that!

Is Skype a good platform for learning English?

With so many platforms available, it can’t be easy to choose the right one for you. But remember that Skype is one of the most popular tutoring platforms.

Yet, when it comes to the level of knowledge, Skype English lessons work best for students of A2 and above levels. It requires lots of patience and teaching experience to deal with a student whose level is lower than that. Thus, Skype is a good platform, on condition the student already has some knowledge of English. And the teacher is capable of providing feedback and teaching the objective of the conversation.

How can I choose the best tutor for me?

It is believed that the best English language online tutors are native speakers, which is a superficial approach to education. Especially if they are not trained and certified for it. Thus, they won’t be able to create a training program. And just communicating in a foreign language isn’t enough. Remember that your English tutor doesn’t have to be someone who was born and lived in an English speaking country. It can be anyone who is certified with an adequate proficiency level and can explain the theory clearly in English to you.

After all, it is quite difficult to explain the rules in English without knowing the language thoroughly. So, it is better to rely on experience and reputation, rather than on “native” language only. Besides, always ask your teacher to show you their TEFL diploma.
