12 Conversation Topics You Should Try on Your Next Chat Session

Working as an English teacher for almost three decades, I’ve learned to talk about various subjects. Talking to a person you’ve just met can be challenging at times. However, engaging in these common ground topics will not only help you improve your English but also develop your social skills.

Travelling is one of my favourite topics because people tend to travel more and more nowadays so there can be many interesting stories to tell.
What tourist places in your country have you visited?
What’s the best place for a holiday in your country? Have you ever been abroad?
Which foreign country would you like to visit and why?
What’s the best way to travel: alone, with family or with friends? Why?

Few people can say they don’t like movies, which makes it a rather interesting topic.
